It took creative, sensitive design to achieve planning permission to replace a 3 bed bungalow with 2, 6 bed family houses. We've worked with this developer a lot, and he likes a challenge, in this case, caves under the garden! So if you have a challenging or unusual site maybe we can help?
At preapplication stage the Planning Authority confirmed they would be supportive of a scheme inspired by the local Arts & Crafts houses as long as we could show the site wouldn't feel cramped.
From the front the houses appear to be 2 storeys to sit in with the street, but the rear elevation shows that the roof space has also been used to maximise the accommodation.
We specified all the internal fixtures, fittings and finishes including the sleek modern kitchens and bathrooms.
Master ensuite bathroom.
A discreet rooflight brings light and views of the sky, into the top floor bathroom which is shared by 2 double bedrooms on this floor. Fittings were carefully located to maximise the feeling of space and make best use pf available headroom.
The kitchen/ dining/ family rooms are open plan but zoned. Bifold doors lead out to the patio, and large slim framed rooflights bathe the rooms in natural light.
