Being experienced in the design of new-build care homes and having completed a number of projects to upgrade and refurbish existing care homes, we can provide a Care home design review service.

Who would this be useful for?
 

This can be particularly useful for smaller independent care homes. We will review your current building & interiors, looking at it through the lens of " Dementia - Friendly" design. 

Stirling University's "Principles of Designing for Dementia" are:

The way it works:
 

Following an initial free virtual 'getting to know you' meeting, where we find out about your current provision and what your aims and aspirations are for this review process, we will:

• Ask you to complete a short questionnaire
• Visit your care home and undertake a review of your current facilities, looking at key features known to affect people living with Dementia, and with Stirling's University's Principles of Designing for Dementia in the forefront of our minds.
• We will produce a report of our findings and then make a "shopping list" of items that could improve your current provision in line with your overall aims, and with Dementia-friendly      design in mind. 
• We will also discuss budgets costs and how our proposals could be implemented in an occupied care home, suggesting possible phasing if pertinent.
• Have a review meeting with you to discuss the report's findings and suggestions.

We offer a fixed fee on this service, depending on the size of your care home.
