After receiving negative feedback to their own pre-application enquiry, the owners of this barn came to us. Following detailed negotiations we were able to secure permission to convert it to Offices. The existing barn was a part open-sided structure with an earth floor and metal clad roof and walls built in the 1920's.
The main discussions we had with the Planning Officer centred around whether the barn was of a 'retainable quality'. We were able to put forward the argument that this simple, robust agricultural structure was just as relevant to its setting, as other locally retained & converted
Following a briefing meeting and a visit to our clients current office, we did some sketch proposals for discussion. The agreed layout had a central reception/waiting area with tea kitchen & wc facilities. Either side of which, was a pair of 2 person offices , 2 of which led through to a large video/presentation suite.
Parking and external areas were then agreed to finalise the site plan prior to
